The Young Ones

For want of any ideas for new art to add to my gallery, I decided to add an old black and white cartoon portrait of the comedy quartet known as the "Young Ones," a BBC sitcom from the 1980's about four wild, outlandish college students living in a rented flat and which follows their various misadventures.  My good friend and fellow DA member, Gulliver63 was the first to turn me on to these Limey losers who's comedic and outlandish appearance and actions I found totally hilarious.  They were, as I described them, "Monty Python on meth."  From left to right, we have "Vyvyan," a crazed punker with a penchant for violence, "Rick," a loud-mouthed socialist-revolutionary wannabe who calls himself "the people's poet," "Neil," a long-haired hippie holdover who's the perpetual whipping boy for the others and "Mike," a well-dressed, sleazy hustler and sex fiend always out to make a dishonest buck.  So here, I present my portrait of a short-lived but really wild British situation comedy. This drawing I originally emailed to Gulliver63 some months ago as a thank you to him for introducing me to these British bad lads.        (Medium: pen and ink, Copic color pens).
