Meg vs. The Purple Assassins 2. Stickin' It. by kiff57krocker Meg vs. The Purple Assassins 2. Stickin' It. by kiff57krocker
No. 2 in what I hope will be an exciting new image for Family Guy's Meg Griffin.  In her battle with the Purple Assassins, she has lost her nunchucks, but comes right back with a pair of sticks found in a rubbish heap.  Using the sticks like escrima batons, in a series of lighting fast moves, Meg succeeds in knocking out two of the masked killers.  As she slowly walks past their unconscious carcasses, Meg uses her sticks to keep the others at bay.  The battle is not yet over, but the odds are becoming more and more stacked against the Purple Assassins. (Medium: pen and ink, colored pens, airbrush).

Meg looks so freakin' hot like this! But her use of escrima batons just reminds me that I forgot mine for my Nightwing cosplay when I went to ColossalCon this weekend. It's just as well, the zipper on my costume broke and I couldn't wear it anyway. :( But still it's a sweet image, I look forward to seeing how she finishes off the rest of those purple nerples!

"Purple nerples."  That's a good one!  And very apropos I must say.  I'm sorry about your "wardrobe malfunction" regarding your Nightwing costume.  Knowing how much this cosplay stuff means to you, I hope you get your costume zipper fixed.  And don't forget your props next time.  Other than that, I thank you for your comments.:D (Big Grin)

I'll try to get it fixed and start taking inventory of what I need for each outfit. I'll also be posting some cosplays I did manage to wear, along with some of the lovely ladies I met over the weekend.

Do you read the newspaper strip "9 Chickweed Lane"? because it seems like there's a slight resemble to the artist's style. Something about the posture and expression on Meg's face. I'm probably reading more into this than exists but I thought I'd ask.

Yes, I've read "9 Chickweed Lane." But if you'll notice, I've kept Meg's figure short and stocky, though shapely.  The ladies in Brooke McEldowny's comic strip are slender, long-legged and willowy.  I've striven to portray Meg Griffin as still a bit chubby as evidenced by the slight bulge above the waistband of her mini skirt and in her bra top.  Meg's facial expressions are my own doing.  Trust me, I was not at all thinking about "9 Chickweed Lane"  when I started doing this series of Meg as a martial arts heroine.  Thank you for your comment.:) (Smile)

Like I said I was probably reading more into this than really exists.  I like your work, and your interpretation of Meg and look forward to more additions to this series.

Speaking of "9 Chickweed Lane," today's (June 9, 2014) episode is mind-bogglingly erotic for a daily newspaper strip. If I went a married man I'd want a 20" x 20"  blow-up of the last panel!

As someone said of Ginger Rogers, she danced just as well as Fred Astaire, only in high heels and backwards.  Saying after seeing that Meg is wearing stiletto high heels. This fighting Meg series is a lot of fun. Keep it up!

Oh, I shall, friend.  Indeed I shall.  That reference to Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire brought back some pleasant memories of their movies on TV.  And Meg, as well as my other martial arts lady cartoons will always be wearing "come and get it" high heels.  Thank you for your comment.:D (Big Grin)

What about having her try tonfa (you may know them better as side-handled nightsticks)?

Or with her outfit, Chinese chakrams (default weapon of Sun Chang Xiyong (sp) in the Dynasty Warriors game series). They look like sharp-edged rings with a grip in the ring.

The tonfa idea sounds like a good one.  I may have her use them in the next fighting Meg series.  The chakrams though, no thanks.  Too exotic for my taste.  I may, however, have her using metal fans.  Thank you for your comment.:D (Big Grin)

You're the artist; the most I can do is have bizarre ideas and suggest them.

And you are, as ever, welcome.

Having the hero or heroine bust up the enemy fighters without getting hurt or even mussing up their hair has always been a staple of the martial arts film and art genre.  And so it is with my fighting girl cartoon art.  Mess with the bull - get the horns!  Thank you for your comment.:D (Big Grin)

You're very observant.  The Assassins are patterned after the Kabuki Twins from the Batman animated series that used to be shown on the WB Network.  The Twins were the Penguin's bodyguards.  In this pic, I simply made them purple, gave them different masks and increased their number.  Thank you for your comment.:D (Big Grin)
